About

Ruigoord is an artists village located just outside Amsterdam in the green area surrounded by nature and canals.

It’s a safe place for artists and performers to create and express themselves. Many have their own little studios in the area, where they can work in peace, some studios are open for visitors to explore. So if you’re an artist visiting Amsterdam you should really pay a visit to this village.

For us non artistic folks this village hosts various music festivals (my favourite one is Georgie's Wundergarten), Yoga days, marketplace, poetry readings, Sunday jazz performances at the church and many more! Check their agenda for upcoming events, there is always something interesting happening.

To me, this village always gives a hippy vibe,  vibrant colors, simple yet beautiful decorations, a deep connection to nature, and a relaxed, loving atmosphere among the people. You're welcome to bring some picnic supplies, spend a peaceful afternoon, enjoy live music, or chat with local artists. It’s a place of relaxation, art and music.
